THE SALON DINNER

For one evening, the guests become part of the installation.

Created by artist and visual anthropologist Marlon F. Hall, the Ecotone Salon Dinner is a participatory social sculpture that uses humanity's oldest institution—the meal—as a tool for cultural exchange, civic connection, and collective imagination.

Since 2015, Hall has facilitated more than 300 salon dinners across universities, museums, cultural institutions, civic organizations, and international residencies around the world.

Through storytelling, listening, music, artifacts, reflection, and shared hospitality, participants become co-creators of a temporary community rooted in curiosity and encounter.
